6 Antique Double Sided Neon Optometrist Trade Sign Gas Oil Glasses Original VTG

6 Long Original Antique Double Sided Neon Optometrist Trade Sign. Sign dates to the 1910s / 1920s. Wigdor on each side and one side says Eyes Examined. Measures 6 ft x 35 tall x 13 deep. Overall very nice condition and structurally sound for its age. One side has a little bit more paint loss than the other. There are a couple small rust hole spots that I took a close up of in the last two photos. A couple of the glass insulators are not in place but are down inside the sign. I would estimate the weight to be about 150 pounds. Two people can easily move it. This is a true American trade sign. Will be the center of any advertising collection when the neon is re done. Original neon sign from the Reef Apartments in Wildwood NJ is a chevron-shaped circa 1960 vintage double-sided hanging neon swing sign. Hundreds of these once existed in the Wildwoods. This was acquired 20 yrs. Ago, the building still exists on the beach block of Leaming Ave. One side of the neon has been refurnished in original tube colors of turquoise, pink, white& red. Looks like vinyls were added over some faded original hand painted letters in the late 1980’s, they were too faded to restore. The sign body is in very good shape and the transformers are original, secure and working. All the access panels and housings are intact and original. Sign has perfect aged patina, it has not been cleaned. We have the real stuff for the past 20 yrs. Sign measures 53″ long x 50″ high x 13 wide. It can still be hung by its brackets & angle iron or just will sit as is, ready to plug in. We can also restore the other side if desired. Rare Vintage Kendall Motor Oil Neon Sign. Size: 27″ x 7″. Year: 60’s to 70’s? Power: 120v direct wiring. Mounting: Original Wall bracket attached. Made by: Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Neon is in Original working condition. No modifications have been made. This is a great working Vintage Neon sign that came from an old Kendall motor oil distributor. Would make a great addition to any Petrolina collector, garage or just in a man cave. Sign does show some wear due to it was in use before being taken down and stored away. It has some light rusting and the lens have some warping. There is no power plug with this sign cause it was directly wired when it was in use and was originally intended to be that way. I tested it with a temporary made plug to show the neon was working. Please see attached pictures for more condition detail. I have tried to research online and in Petrolina forums for the years this was made but have not been able to get an exact date of manufacture. It was made by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. And with that being said everything leads me to believe this is from the 60’s-70’s. But please if you know this to be different please let me know.
