This sign I believe dates to the 1940’s era and measures 25 inches wide, 16 1/2 inches tall and is approx. 6 1/2 inches in depth when hanging. The frame for this sign is a cast aluminum and it is free from any breaks or repairs. I have indicated in the pictures where there is some loss of finish on the frame. My guess is this sign was cold painted and time and wear has caused some of the gilded finish to flake off. The neon portion of this is original to this sign and is also free from any breaks or repairs. Please note the picture that shows a loss of grey paint on one portion of the neon tubing. This is the only area where there is a loss of paint on the tubing. The cord is the original 9-foot long cord, but please note that the ground wire on the end of the plug is missing some of the protective covering. An easy fix with some electrical tape, but mentioned for accuracy. The neon works and the transformer does not have a loud hum like some of these old ones do. Please look at the picture of the sign it up. Being very critical, one can see where there brightness is not even and uniform. I don’t know if this means a potential future problem for this sign, or just typical of an old neon, but in any case I felt it needed to be mentioned. The original chain is included and will support this sign when hanging. Originally, there were 4-inch screws with a rubber base attached that would allow this sign to be hung in a bar window. The screws would keep the sign off of the window. There is still one of these screws included but the other one is missing. The holes are on the frame so one could easily replace (a 8/32 screw) with newer ones.
