Historical Trenton Market Neon Sign. About 7 foot tall this sign was on pole at Admiral & Trenton advertising the old Trenton (Farmers Produce Market) well know to Tulsa People 55 and older. (Rio Verde Mexican restaurant area) Sign needs restoration and Claude Neon is right down the street from my work shop. (I have reason to believe Claude Neon made this sign in the day) Rusty and needs sheet metal work.. This sign is a important part of Tulsa history. Located at Admiral and Trenton for many Years Trenton Market served Tulsa produce buyers well from the 1930’s until the 1960’s or later. A sign worth saving. Offered is a Vintage 1930s Ruppert Beer Neon Sign in good working condition. Measures 6″ deep x 10″ high x 24 long. The Jacob Ruppert Brewery also made Knickerbocker beer in New York. I put on a new power cord as the original was in very bad condition. The letters are actually colored yellow but when you turn the sign on they turn a red/orange color. The sign is complete but the metal has quite a bit of surface rust. The glass front (15 cents a bottle) is in great condition. Only a little bit of dark color worn off on the far left side. Some of the yellow color is worn off of the first R and just a little worn off on a few of the other letters. I did not try to clean the glass letters as i was afraid i might take off more of the yellow color. See all ENLARGED photos for condition. Can be delivered within 100 miles of Santa Barbara Ca. Antique JAX BEER neon sign. This sign is working but otherwise exhibits wear and age. The cord has been replaced, and at some point someone badly repainted the black lettering on the front of the sign. There are a couple of spots were the clear plastic cover exhibits a small crack or chip along the edge. I noticed a lot of black tarry stuff inside the metal electrical box when replacing the cord. The sign lights right up, doesn’t flicker, and the motor only emits a very slight hum. Old white stencil on reverse reads PROPERTY OF JAX BREWING CO. Vintage 1930s PRISCILLA QUALITY DIAMONDS neon spinner sign in good structural condition despite it’s many years. Glass has no breaks or cracks, however reverse transfer has shrinkage and loss (see pics). Metal case is in good shape with no bends, cracks or oxidation (could use a cleaning). 80 year old neon and transformer are strong and continue to function very well, could not get spinner motor to operate. Cloth would power cord looks good. Measures 15 x 14 x 5.5 inches. If you have any specific instructions regarding special packing, please let me know before paying so that I may adjust invoice if necessary.
