Neon-Ray was a company based in Brooklyn & Buffalo New York U. They produced a couple of different types of “menu board” clocks. We’re assuming this was a sibling of the Canadian Neon Ray Clock Company. VERY HEAVY CLOCK WITH TRANSFORMER WHICH MEASURES 22″ INCHES HIGH X 18.5″ INCHES WIDE X 8 INCHES DEEP AND RETAINS THE ORIGINAL HANGING CHAIN ON THE BACK OF THE CLOCK WITH HANDLE ON TOP. THE PATENT DATE ON THE CLOCK DATES THE PIECE TO AROUND 1931. THE ALTERNATING CURRENT SYNCHRONOUS MOVEMENT “HAMMOND” CLOCK KEEPS PERFECT TIME AS WELL AND YOU HAVE TO START THE CLOCK BY HAND WINDING!!! <<< VINTAGE NEON SIGN, SILVER DOLLAR SALOON >>>. For sale, this old saloon sign, circa 1930s-1940s. This sign is from the now defunct SILVER DOLLAR SALOON in Union City, CA. The building is still there but no longer operating. It’s my understanding speaking with the local Historical Society that this was one of the oldest (if not the oldest) and longest operating saloons in the area. It seems to have a colorful history; check out the attached newspaper article from 1944 about the “Pistol Pack’n Mama”. There’s also a picture of the bar with patrons enjoying a few drinks. I also have some information about the owner who happened to also own the SHELL station next door. This is all in the pictures attached, please check it out. This sign is the smallest of the group I have for sale – approximately 33 inches high, 60 inches long, and 8.5 inches wide. It’s a two sided sign. The sign has been completely rewired with new GTO wire and new transformers. All wiring is new. The original neon tubing has been repaired and is two color, red and white. The sign is dated with 1937 on the COIN face, clearly visible in the pictures. The concept of the restoration was to retain the originality but make it safe to use and hang. The sign has a simple wall plug, just plug it into a wall receptacle and you are good to go. The inside structure is good. The sign can be hanged from the top brackets, mounted from the side, or by resting on its bottom. We have lots of other neon signs, some listed already or in the works! Please see our other listings. We can crate this up as needed. We do travel frequently, possibly can bring to you. We are also willing to hold the sign if needed for pick-up.
