Vintage Route 66 Porcelain Frontier Motel Neon Sign

This is an Authentic Route 66 Vintage Porcelain Neon sign. The Frontier Motel was on Route 66 in Miami Oklahoma. This sign is the original sign that stood over the Motel. I have both sides of the sign. One side is original neon! The other side two of the pieces of neon are original. The sign has been meticulously restored with new transformers, 10 new PK housings, all new wire, plug and electric components. I have a box for the purchaser with all of the original transformers, cords, and electronic components. I also have two of the original spinner lights that were on top of the sign. The frame each side of the porcelain sides are attached to and the metal stand were custom fabricated to hold the weight of the sign and showcase both sides of its beauty. Route 66 Porcelain Neon Motel Signs are so rare to find. It would make an amazing addition to any classic car collection, home, office or man cave! This sign wont last long! Vintage neon “MOTEL” sign measures 4′ wide x 3′ high x 5 1/2 deep. It is a section from the award-winning Aztec Motel neon sign that once stood in Wildwood Crest, NJ. The entire sign proved too large to deal with so various sections are being reworked to display in local history museums and some panels like this are available to the public. The panel has original hand-painted mission deco details in a nice faded patina with neon colors still a vibrant aqua, orange, and green. Now ready to plug in and enjoy, custom neon like this will last for decades more. Vintage OLD Metal Motel Marquee Arrow Sign (not neon) Bulbs Local Las Vegas

Up for sale is a very cool old motel arrow sign. I was told it came off an old motel in El Paso. It’s definitely seen the elements, when we took it apart to inspect the insides, there was probably a pound of desert dust inside of it. Based on the sign and the wiring it’s probably from the 1950s, maybe earlier. These don’t often come up for sale so don’t let this get away. The sign is NOT missing any access panel. We gently cleaned the wiring, inspected the wiring, rewired the plug and discovered the mechanical flasher needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I never got around to it, I wanted to try and find one that was at least vintage new old stock rather than a brand new one.. Note: The mechanical flasher that makes the bulbs flash has chewed through the contacts from decades of use. The mechanical flasher is dated to be 30 years old and did not appear to be original to the sign the way it was installed, so this was obviously one of many mechanical sign flashers this sign has used up and thrown away. They even sell SOLID STATE flashers that would work with this but you would be giving up that great mechanical “grinding” sound this sign gives off.
