Super Rare LONE STAR BEER ARMADILLO Backlit Sign. This is the impossible to find fluorescent backlit version of the iconic Lone Star Armadillo shield. This is a large sign that measures 36″ Wide X 24″ Tall X about 10 Deep. Sticker on the back says it was made July 2nd, 2001, meaning this sign is already 14 years old and still in perfect condition. Just pull the sting and it lights right up. Comes with a hanging chain mounted on the back. Cosmetically its in perfect shape with no flaws or damage to speak of. This would make an excellent addition to any Texas Beer / Shiner / Lone Star collection, man cave, or even a movie prop collection. THE LETTERS ARE 36 INCHES FROM THE ALUMINUM BEVELED BOTTOM TO THE TOP OF THE LETTERS. THE LETTERS ARE RED PLASTIC THAT COVERS THE GLASS NEON? TUBES IN EACH LETTER AND THE PERIOD. THE LETTERS ARE COVERED IN THE BACK AND SCREWED IN TO A BRACKET INSIDE EACH LETTER. I, M NOT SURE IF THE TUBES ARE NEON, OR HOW THEY WORK? THE “THE” PIECE IS 10 FEET LONG APPROX. Actually has a period!! PIECE IS 9 FEET LONG APPROX. THE “YANCEY” PIECE IS 20 FEET LONG APPROX. This is a very nice small (19″ length x 10″ height x 3.5 width) vintage original late 1950’s early 1960’s Studebaker batteries lighted / illuminated sign. It is made by Neon Products Incorporated Lima Ohio. It has a new fluorescent bulb and starter. There are no cracks in the thick plastic or dents in the housing. There are some light scratches on the face & some paint loss on the end caps of the housing. The cord was replaced at one time. I got this nice old clock “as is” about 10 years ago, except I added the black metal back. I believe the green neon was also added prior to my acquiring it. It all works very well (neon & clock) and looks great off or on!!! Quality brass movement, synchron motor which typically keep perfect time… Best “guestimate” is that it was manufactured in the 40’s-50’s. Size: 16″x16″ Weight: 12 lbs.
