This is a MINT NOS original Taxi Cab roof sign from the 1930s or 40s. The sign has been mounted to a wood board for display and has a low voltage power supply so that it can be used with the original sockets and bulbs. It is ready to plug in and be enjoyed! The white center section of the sign is solid milk glass. The TAXI lettering is painted in red on both sides. The red lettering is fired onto the glass and in perfect condition. The glass cylinder is flawless with no chips, cracks or flaws. The metal end caps are in mint condition with original paint, sockets and wiring, all like new. The bases of the end pieces are spring loaded so that they can be folded down to change the bulbs. These use standard “bayonet mount” tail light style bulbs which are readily available. The Taxi sign itself measures 9” wide from end to end. The wood board measures 11” x 5.5′.
