Please let us know if you have any questions. A Recent Barn Find! 1940s Era Enameled Metal Corner Cafe Neon Outdoor Business Sign. This piece is sturdy and basically sound with weathered exterior as shown. There is a Thordason Ballast evident on the right side as seen from the top. The neon is all gone with bits here and there also as shown. Certainly a wonderful relic from a by gone era. With some restoration this can become a working neon sign once again. NEON MICKEY SALMON PLUGS HAD A LITTLE DROP OF MERCURY IN A CLEAR COMPARTMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLUG. IT GLOWED BECAUSE OF THE GAS SURROUNDING THE MERCURY. I’M NOT SURE HOW EFFECTIVE THE LURE WAS BUT HERE IS AN ORIGINAL SIGN PROMOTING THE LURE. IT IS 21 X 6 INCHES AND 1/8 THICK. ITS MADE OF ACRYLIC PLASTIC AND IS VINTAGE 1955-59 OR SO. IT HAS A FEW SCRATCHES BUT IS OTHERWISE IN PRETTY NICE SHAPE. I WISH IT DID, BUT IT DOES NOT GLOW IN THE DARK! PLEASE VIEW THE PICTURES FOR A GOOD LOOK. WONDERFUL PIECE OF ADVERTISING HISTORY. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1940’S HEAVY BLUE PORCELAIN PHARMACY SIGN BY ACME SIGNAGE. SIGNED ACME ON THE FRONT. THIS PIECE WAS BEHIND THE COUNTER WITH NEON LIGHTING IN IT. THERE REMAINS THE FEW HOLES FROM THE NEON. THE PORCELAIN IS SHINY AND BEAUTIFUL, THE LETTERS ARE BRIGHT WHITE. THIS SIGN IS HEAVY AND VERY LARGE. IT’S JUST SHY OF 9′ (107″) LONG AND 20″ WIDE. SIGN IS IN EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION. A FEW CHIPS AROUND THE EDGE, BUT OVERALL IN VERY EXCELLENT CONDITION. Vintage Schmidts Beer of Philadelphia Neon Sign. Neon in good working condition as can be seen in photos. Sign Only transformer not included. Sign measures approximately 14″ H X 24 1/2″ wide X 2 3/4. Center of neon sign has a cut out plastic in the shape of a keystone engraved “of Phila”. This appears to be a rare sign probably from the section of Phila known as Brewery Town. If you live in that area this is a piece of history to hang on that special wall. Transformers are available on e-bay. I make an attempt to describe each item accurately.
