This is a very cool vintage two sided tin can cafe arrow sign with new neon. The sign is mid 20th century and is solid with expected wear made of sheet metal and very sturdy. The best part about this sign is it’s very workable size 33″ long x 18″ high x 9 1/2 deep including the neon. This sign can fit any room, what a great look. It comes with a remote on/off switch. UP FOR SALE IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY SCARCE Killer Original Vintage Art Deco 1930s – 1940s Era CHEVRON CAFE Gas & Oil Service Station Double Sided Porcelain Neon Can With Bullnose Advertising Sign manufactured by the SOUTH BEND NEON COMPANY. MEASUREMENTS OF CAN AS FOLLOWS: 90″ INCHES LONG X 18″ INCHES HIGH X 12 INCHES THICK and. Manufactured by the: SOUTH BEND NEON CO. Great Vintage Condition showing heavy signs of wear which is appropriate with the aging process such as nicks , chips , marks , scratches , rust , and 100% natural beautifully weathered patina which looks incredible!!! The red porcelain on this sign is in excellent condition with hardly any chips but the white porcelain in the letters and stripes is starting to deteriorate in a lot of areas which gives the sign such an amazing patina!!! The solid steel can is solid as a rock with no “rot” whatsoever and it still retains all of the brackets for hanging which are still solid and sturdy. There is some rust on the bottom panel but no rot at all. If you plan to restore this sign it will need the following items: New Transformer , New Glass Insulators , New Brass Support Brackets and New Neon Glass Lettering!! A cool neon tin can one sided sign, CAFE. The sign is from the early to mid 1900’s and is in worn condition with new neon and remote on/off switch. This sign appears to have been cut off the end of a longer sign, perhaps there was a name of the cafe on the missing portion. The end has been sealed with sheet metal. The sign is a great size and an easy one to display flat against a wall, neon is blue. The sign is 31″ long x 11″ high and 13 1/2 deep including the neon. Also included is a document showing stating the sign was installed on the building in 1938. Sign was restored to it’s original colors and we think original colored neon. CAFE flashes off and on.
