ID Tag on the transformer tells me this sign was made NOV 1989, making this sign 30 years old! Sign is in absolutely brand new/unused shape! There is no damage or flaws of any type to the sign and it is still in the original box. The only time it has been turned on was to take the listing photos. The neon colors are all vivid without any color loss or fading on the glass. All glass tubing is in great shape with no cracks or scrapes in the coloring. The blackout paint behind the tubes does show some “crazing” this is only in the paint! The glass is pristine which is typical after sitting for this long. I personally think the crazing in the blackout paint makes it look cooler. This is the large version of this sign measuring 28″ Tall X 28″ Wide X 6.5 Deep. Electrical cord is in great shape and not at all brittle or stiff. There is a more common smaller one that you see for sale somewhat often which is heavily copied by Chinese bootleggers. If you search “lone star neon” you will literally see hundreds of these fakes and about 5-10 actual authentic (made in AMERICA) Lone Star neons. The worst part is- the fakes look nothing like the listing photos. Also be weary of “new” signs out of California or Houston as they are mostly fakes as well. If you have any respect for yourself or this country you will not settle for a lesser quality, cheaply made Chinese knock-off of ANYTHING, let alone a neon sign which if not made properly could burn your house down.
