For sale is this amazing FIRESTONE Individual Letters Sign in outstanding condition considering its age! The porcelain has great color! The sign does show signs of wear and use including some scuffs, scratches some minor bending as well as some chips/wear on the porcelain (the worst is on the “F” which can be seen in the second to last pic). This sign once had neon outlining the letters on the outside however, the neon has been removed. Each letter seems to still have a ballast in it based on the weight of each of the letters but I have not confirmed this. The electrical regarding this sign has NOT been tested. I have not removed the backs of the letters to look inside other than the “F” which has screws missing so I could look inside. The letters have the pieces around the edges that the neon use to be hooked to. The sign is in “as found” condition other than being dusted off. The back of the letters do have some areas of surface rust. There is a partial sticker on one of the letters that I can make out that says Underwriters Laboratories. Someone put tin foil over the glass holes to keep stuff out on a few of the letters. There is also some steel attached to the back of the letters from the original mount. They were in worse condition then this set. I was unable to find any others to gauge a value… These are rare from what I understand. The Letters measure approx. (Height x Width in Inches) All letters are the same depth of approx 7 1/4. F – 44 1/2 x 33. I – 30 x 8 1/2. R – 24 x 17 1/4. E – 24 x 19. S – 24 x 18 1/2. T – 29 3/8 x 13 1/4. O – 24 1/2 x 20 3/4. Talk about a cool rare sign! The center neon animates/moves and goes Bud, then weis and finishes with er and repeats. Just like the old classic Budweiser tv ad back in the day. The outer green neon and the real ruby red top piece stay on all the time. The back of the sign has all the neon electronics & power supplies from “Everbrite Evertron”. The background that the embossed and diecut metal sign and neon are attached to is a sturdy 1/2 painted black wood that has been contoured to the shape of the sign and neon. Measures an impressive 34″W x 25″H x 5D. I will deliver it for free if you are somewhere I plan on traveling in the near future. Amazing Rescue from Central CT. Has been in dry storage for approx 30 years. There is a slight crack in the plastic lense cover below the #6. The hands move freely with the adjustment wheel. At one point there was neon, so that is missing. I did not apply any power to this sign because it was Hard Wired. So this is NON-TESTED. The sign measures 10 1/2″ tall and 17 ” long and approximately 5 deep. None of the glass is broke and the colors are vibrant. The frame is metal and the color is black with chrome strips. The neon tube is not broke but are disconnected in back of the sign. This sign could be restored. I searched everywhere to find information on this piece and had no luck. I can only believe this sign to be very rare and beautiful for the age. I described this sign to the best of my ability. This sign came from an older gentleman who was an avid collector and had a taste for the finer collectibles. Please see my other auctions as he had a taste for some hard to find items. The sign presently does not light up. The neon tube is diconnected and the cord has been cut. Nevertheless a very rare and nice piece for restoration.
