Vintage XXX PEARL LAGER BEER & UNA PERLA POR FAVOR Neo-Neon Sign Set. These signs (either version) are tough to come by and both of these are in amazing shape for their age. One sign features the classic Pearl Lager Beer logo with the iconic XXX that has represented Pearl since before prohibition. This is the older version with the GOLD case and BROWN/YELLOW colored front lense that is layered in a way that gives it much more depth, dimension and variation in the way the viewer sees the light and colors (also known as neo-neon, meant to mimic the look of neon without it being so fragile). The newer ones from the 80’s are much more cheaply/less artistically made with a black plastic case and front lense that just puts out a flat light. This version was made in the late 60’s/early 70’s. The other sign is the spanish version and is EXTREMELY RARE- only a handful have been documented still in existence. It says Una PERLA Por Favor (Bottle of Pearl, Please) which was another one of Pearl’s advertising catchphrases of the 1960’s era. This one has a SEAFOAM GREEN case with the BROWN/GREEN colored front lense. As for both signs: the only flaws are some tiny scrapes in the front lense (you have to look for them to notice them). Everything else is in great shape. The light comes right on when you plug either sign in and the plastic is still strong and flexible.. Not at all brittle. Stickers on the backs say they were made by Display Corporation and provides instructions for cleaning and re-lamping the sign. Signs measure 19″ X 13″ X 3.
