VINTAGE ORIGINAL 1948 CHEVROLET TIME NEON DEALER ADVERTISING CLOCK IN GREAT RUNNING CONDITION. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1848 CHEVROLET TIME NEON CLOCK THAT ADVERTISES FOR CLARK CHEVROLET OF MESICK, MICHIGAN. I REPLACED THE NEON TRANSFORMER AND CLOCK MOTOR AS SHOWN. THE TRANSFORMER WORKS BUT I DID NOT WANT ANY SHOCK HAZARD AND THE CLOCK MOTOR WOULD START AND STOP BUT IT MADE A LOUD NOISE SO I REPLACED IT WITH A BRAND NEW SYNCHRON MOTOR THAT RUNS LIKE A SWISS WATCH WITH NO NOISE! IT HAS EXCELLENT COLORS AND GRAPHICS ON THE FACE WITH SOME MINOR PAINT ISSUES ON THE ALUMINUM CASE AS SHOWN. IT MEASURES A LARGE 20 1/2” IN DIAMETER BY 6” THICK AND WAS MADE IN 1848 BY THE SIGN AND PICTORIAL LOCAL TRADES AND PAINTERS UNION LOCAL 214. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND HIGHLY COLLECTABLE ORIGINAL CHEVROLET TIME NEON CLOCK THAT WILL MAKE AN EXCELLENT ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION. THERE WAS A LOT OF PEELING OF THE MIRROR FINISH SO WE USED A CHROME PAINT WHICH LOOKED GOOD ON BACK BUT CAME OUT NOT AS BRIGHT ON FRONT. IT WILL PEEL OFF EASYLY WITH RAZOR BLADE IF YOU KNOW OF BETTER WAY. THE DARK GREEN HAS BIT OF PEELING BUT WILL BE EASY FIX. ANYWAY THIS RARE PIECE OF ADVERTISING LOOKS GREAT , AND WOULD MAKE A VERY NICE ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION. I HAVE TRYED TO GIVE ALL INFORMATION BUT THE PICTURES ARE TO BE MAIN DESCRIPTION. The sign measures 40 inches long by 16 inches tall and 7 inches deep. Neon sticks out about 2 inches from metal. You are gonna be hard pressed to find a sign like this in any condition, they are very rare. I cant find one anywhere on the net. Very large vintage drive-in theater neon sign. Sign was used for many years at the ” Lakes Drive-in Theater”, which closed in the late 1990’s, Sign has neon motion which creates”water wave” action at bottom of sign and flashing “stars” thru out. Beautiful to see, lighted and moving, please view video. I believe sign was built in the 1950’s. Sign is in full working condition, restored with new neon, transformers, wiring, and paint.
