This is an absolutely gorgeous real electric neon sign from Wildwood NJ. It works perfectly Has a 110 volt electric cord on / off switch… Heavy metal bracket to mount it Also has metal loops so it can be suspended in a window or on a wall. It has clear protectors to keep it from hitting the window glass This is a very well-designed piece Not a novelty store item this is the real deal. It was custom-made by a local Wildwood neon sign specialist. It greeted motorists at the east end of Rio Grande Avenue as you approached the boardwalk and beach area after entering the resort. Its good for many years in the top floor window of the former Wildwood recreation center. The DOO WW logo, derived in part from the doo-wop preservation league (its museum is across from the Wildwood convention center) has since been utilized as a major marketing emblem advertising the resort. Sign measures 18 x 24 across, still mounted on painted black backing with steel bracket along top for hanging and is in five vibrant doowop neon colors of orange, lime green, aqua, blue and purple. A new lightweight transformer has been mounted on the rear of the sign with on/off switch that you can just plug into any outlet, total power draw is just 50 Watts. You will not find another one of these. When you do find real vintage Wildwood neon stuff like this it is usually way more expensive. You can plug the sign in and verify. One of Philadelphia’s iconic attractions, the Reading Terminal Market, located in center city across from the convention center. This is a directional sign that hung in a bus station or subway nearby. Advertising pieces from the market are rare because they are usually restored and reused as was the case in a recent renovation. However we were able to locate this original directional sign for the market. The sign is aluminum dates from the 1950’s or 1960’s. When found in a craw space under a house in Sewell, NJ, the T on the end was missing and the neon was in bad shape. We have restored the sign with new neon. It is a wonderful piece of Philadelphia historic advertising. The sign is 11 feet long x 15″ tall and 10 1/2″ deep and is basically a box, very sturdy with iron hangers on the back side. You can see this sign in person at the Old State Theater Antique Mall in Columbia, PA. A cool vintage lighted, 2 sided, BAR sign from a neighborhood bar in Philadelphia. The sign is 3 aluminum box letters with acrylic sheet letters on a galvanized steel frame. The sign is 64 1/8″ tall x 32″ wide overall and 8 deep. The letter boxes are 18 1/2 square. The sign was originally lighted with circular neon tubes but we have rewired it and fitted the boxes with LED lights. It is very sturdy and easy to mount on a wall. Wonder how much a beer was?
