Up for sale is a very cool old motel arrow sign. I was told it came off an old motel in El Paso. It’s definitely seen the elements, when we took it apart to inspect the insides, there was probably a pound of desert dust inside of it. Based on the sign and the wiring it’s probably from the 1950s, maybe earlier. These don’t often come up for sale so don’t let this get away. The sign is NOT missing any access panel. We gently cleaned the wiring, inspected the wiring, rewired the plug and discovered the mechanical flasher needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I never got around to it, I wanted to try and find one that was at least vintage new old stock rather than a brand new one.. Note: The mechanical flasher that makes the bulbs flash has chewed through the contacts from decades of use. The mechanical flasher is dated to be 30 years old and did not appear to be original to the sign the way it was installed, so this was obviously one of many mechanical sign flashers this sign has used up and thrown away. They even sell SOLID STATE flashers that would work with this but you would be giving up that great mechanical “grinding” sound this sign gives off.
