This is an original Vintage QUALITY ICE CREAM sign from the 1940s. It is porcelain and neon. It was originally neon, and not a regular sign with neon added later. This sign is stunning when plugged in, and has multicolored neon tubes that make a dramatic statement. This sign has neon that works perfectly. The QUALITY part of the neon (clear red neon) and the ICE CREAM part of the neon (multicolored neon tubes fused together) are on separate circuits, so that you could light them independently or flash them alternately. The Porcelain finish of the sign is relatively good condition. There are some chips and small rust spots, as shown in the pictures. And, the gloss is not too great on the porcelain—-HOWEVER, I did not clean the sign at all because I was afraid of breaking the neon. From my experience, I believe the finish could be made much cleaner and glossier with some cleaning and polishing. The can is in nice condition and is solid with no dents or rust. I try to be as accurate as possible in my description, and I showed the damage in close-ups, but feel free to ask if you have any other questions regarding the condition of the sign. The dimensions of the sign are 84″ x 37″ x 8. I can also hold onto the sign for 90 days if you need that. I suggest contacting me ahead of time to work this out.
