UP FOR SALE IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY SCARCE ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1920s to 1930s PORCELAIN (SUNOCO) GAS AND OIL SERVICE STATION ADVERTISING SIGN MANUFACTURED BY BEAVER ENAMEL / ELLWOOD CITY , PA. / MADE IN U. SIGN MEASURES EXACTLY 6′ FEET WIDE X 4′ FEET HIGH AND HAS A 4 INCH PORCELAIN TRIM CAN FRAME ON ALL FOUR SIDES OF THE SIGN. A LARGE PORTION OF THE SOLID STEEL POLE RUNNING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF IT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. IT IS MISSING THE RED PORCELAIN ARROW TIPS ON EACH SIDE. THERE ARE SEVERAL CHIPS ON ONE SIDE AND SOME DENTS ON THE LOWER BOTTOM EDGE OF THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE SIGN. IT IS MARKED AS FOLLOWS: MADE IN U. BEAVER ENAMEL , ELLWOOD CITY , PA. AND THE SOLID BRASS NEON SUPPORT BRACKETS ARE MARKED PAT. 1,617,070 WHICH IS A PATENT DATE OF THE YEAR 1927. Great Condition showing heavy signs of wear which is appropriate with the aging process such as Nicks , chips , marks , scratches and natural patina which looks great!!!
