Heres your chance to own a rare piece of history. Its not very often a neon sign from a fire department is up for sale. Come to think of it, Ive never seen one for sale. This sign is from the early 1950s from a fire department in Indio California on Jackson Street. It hung from a big white pole in front of the station. The Fire station is no longer there. The sign is single sided, and was hand painted with an oil based paint. The sign has its original mounting brackets, and the neon transformer. Neon tubes are not there. The sign is in all original condition. It has not been touched up. 56x 11x 7 3/4. THERE WAS A LOT OF PEELING OF THE MIRROR FINISH SO WE USED A CHROME PAINT WHICH LOOKED GOOD ON BACK BUT CAME OUT NOT AS BRIGHT ON FRONT. IT WILL PEEL OFF EASYLY WITH RAZOR BLADE IF YOU KNOW OF BETTER WAY. THE DARK GREEN HAS BIT OF PEELING BUT WILL BE EASY FIX.
