RARE Vintage 1940s COCKTAILS Bar Neon Metal Sign, Old Los Angeles WOW

This is a fantastic and RARE Vintage 1940s COCKTAILS Bar Neon Metal Sign, which was pulled from an old cocktail bar in Los Angeles, California. This sign likely dates to the 1940’s – 1950’s and would have originally had glass neon tubing on the left side, and over all of the letters, but these were lost long ago, and this piece has been retrofitted with modern plastic light tubing. This amazing sign is quite large, at approximately 60 inches tall x 28 1/2 inches wide x 2 1/2 inches deep. Good condition for age and decades of outdoor display use, with expected scuffing, denting, edge wear, oxidation, and paint loss throughout please see photos. This sort of honest patina is exactly what you would want to see on a sign like this. Acquired from an old collection in Los Angeles County, California. 99% of Cocktail Bar signs that you will see online are Chinese made reproductions, but this is the real deal. RARE Vintage 1940s Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Neon Light Advertising Sign Restored. Measures about 24″ by 15″. Please note, this neon was restored. The neon tube, cord, transformer are all new. The frame / shell is original but has been repainted. The emblem atop the neon is also original. Very very tough neon to find! From what I was told, the original had been completely shattered and the frame was covered in rust. It was cleaned, repainted, and new neon was created. 1940s Standard Beer Vintage Neon Sign from Cleveland Ohio. Sign works well and has its original metal frame. It is roughly 11 across at the bottom and 21 across at the top. It is roughly 12 from top to bottom. It has original neon tubing with some flaking on the blackout paint and some rust on the steel frame. Not a common sign. This is a window hanging sign. This piece is sturdy and basically sound with weathered exterior as shown. There is a Thordason Ballast evident on the right side as seen from the top. The neon is all gone with bits here and there also as shown. Certainly a wonderful relic from a by gone era. With some restoration this can become a working neon sign once again. Fair condition for its age. Newly rewired and all new neon. Please see all photos. This neon sign is from Hotel Benham in Penn Yan, NY, which was demolished in the 1950s. My best guess would be that this sign is originally from the early 40s, though it may be late 30s. It was originally double-sided, but only one side has had new neon put into it. The other side is a little too far gone, and only having one side done will allow this sign to be displayed against a wall. It’s got great patina, and is structurally sound. 4′ x 3′, not including hooks at the top. Please contact me with any questions before purchasing. Vintage Original 1940’s Neon Tri-Color Restored Advertising Sign. This unique sign is from the Union Hotel Clinton Street Binghamton, New York. Clinton Street was a mile stretch of taverns, boutiques, and attractions in Binghamton’s First Ward starting in late 1800’s to present. Today Clinton Street is known for its many antique shops and attractions. This” One of a Kind” jewel was a fixture on the exterior of the Union Hotel circa 1888 from the 1940’s through 1970’s until it fell in need of total repair, was removed from the building and stored. The result was breathtaking!!! Back to all it’s Glory in it’s rare tri-colors of green, orange, pink… This jewel would make a statement in any space, loft, industrial setting…. Truly a wonderful piece of neon on steel hand crafted 1940’s Americana. Sign is double sided and wired currently for 110v and has 3 prong plug.
